EIBC Grand Final Winners to Compete in the University Startup World Cup 2021 Competition in China
Engineers in Business Fellowship has partnered with Venture Cup China which promotes and showcases entrepreneurship among university students and helps to eliminate the gap between the academic world and the business community.
A major initiative is the University Startup World Cup, an international competition for innovation and entrepreneurship initiated by the Nordic non-profit organisation Venture Cup Denmark. Its vision is to create global participation of governments, enterprises, universities, investors, experts, scholars and young creators and is supported by the Danish Royal Family, well-known international institutions, and Fortune 500 companies.
The first five University Startup World Cup Global Finals were held in Copenhagen. In 2020, the competition expanded and was hosted in China for the first time. It reached a new high in terms of numbers, reaching five continents, 71 countries, 2,000 universities, 4,000 teams and 75 finalists.
The winners of the Engineers in Business Champion of Champions Final in October 2021 will automatically be entered into the University Startup World Cup in China, offering them an exciting opportunity to network with investors, mentors and experts; to exhibit and pitch to become the world's best university startup and win $50,000.
David Falzani MBE, President of Engineers in Business Fellowship said: “This is an amazing opportunity for the winners of our Grand Final. This collaboration with Venture Cup China extends the reach of EIBF’s support for young engineers. It provides a unique opportunity to meet and network with professionals who can share their experiences with our winners, and they can learn about the startup ecosystem in China. Should one of our Engineers in Business prize winners also win a prize at the University Startup World Cup they will have phenomenal additional resources to take their business innovation to the next stage.”
